Trunnion Mounted Ball Valves
Trunnion Mounted Ball Valves are one of the most popular forms of pipeline isolation valves. Their applications are versatile, capable of handling line media with varying levels of viscosity, particulate matter, pressure and temperature. Magwen’s portfolio features field tested and proven designs to suit the most challenging requirements in a variety of industries and applications.

9 of 9The valve is offered in either 2 piece cast design, or 3-piece forged design, depending on the application. In both cases, body joints are provided with redundant sealing combination of O-Rings and graphite gaskets.
The stem is given ‘Anti-Blowout’ provision – it will not eject from the valve assembly even under highly elevated line pressures. To completely block stem assembly leak paths, a triple sealing system comprising 2 O-rings and a fire safe gasket are provided.
To prevent build of static charge on the ball, an anti-static feature is given which provides free charge an electrical pathway to grounding.
By default, our valves are provided with an integral trunnion, where bearings serve as a retainer and block potential leak paths.
With this feature, media trapped within the body cavity in closed valve position is automatically ‘relived’ into the lower pressure side of the pipeline. This enhances installation safety by preventing dangerous increases in pressure of trapped media.
Sealing action is independent of pressures of line media. So, drain/vent provisions can be provided on request for valve bleeding functionality.
The valve can be provided with Primary Soft, Secondary Metal seats. In the event of a fire, the soft seat burns away, and the metal seat is responsible for sealing action of the valve.
On request, provisions are provided to allow injection of sealant into body seat and valve stem.
Mechanical locking is provided in the valve neck to prevent development of torsional load on housing fasteners.
